Information
Arimidex (Anastrozole) is an anticancer medication used to treat breast cancer after surgery and for metastases in post-menopausal women. It lowers estrogen levels in postmenopausal women, which may slow the growth of certain types of breast tumors that need Estrogen to grow in the body. Arimidex is also used to treat advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women whose disease has spread to other parts of the body following treatment with Tamoxifen, another anticancer drug.

Arimidex may cause side effects. Tell your doctor as soon as possible if any develop or change in intensity. Side effects may include: hot flashes, skin rashes, coughing, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, hair thinning, headache, tiredness, depression and risk of osteoporosis.
